Men’s Tennis gets 4 on ITA Scholar list

St. Thomas had four men's tennis players honored on the 2012 ITA Scholar-Athlete Teams.

Tommie seniors Dan Cooper and Peter Wright joined freshmen Kevin Lanigan and Allen-Michael Muench as they each surpassed the 3.50 gpa standard for the 2011-12 school year.

A native of Madison, Wis., Cooper made All-MIAC in singles and doubles. He finished 11-5 at second singles and 9-7 at first doubles. On his four-year career, Cooper was 43-20 in doubles and 43-22 in singles.

Wright, of Dubuque, Iowa, went 7-3 in singles this season and 7-0 in 2011.

Muench, a native of Flower Mound, Tex., was 10-4 in singles and 12-4 in doubles this spring.

Lanigan, who hails from Waukesha, Wis., was 2-4 in doubles this season.
