No. 4-ranked St. Thomas will play at 4:30 p.m. next Friday in Appleton, Wis. against No. 6-ranked Christopher Newport in the third of four games on the opening day of the Division III Baseball College World Series in Appleton, Wis.
Six of the eight spots in the May 25-29 double-elimination tournament were secured on Saturday, with the final two determined on Sunday.
The field includes two unranked teams -- first-time qualifiers Webster (Mo.) and Whitworth (Wash.); plus No. 1-ranked Marietta; No. 2-ranked Cortland (N.Y.) State; No. 8 (Kean (N.J.) and No. 9-ranked Wheaton (Mass.).
